Nick
studied Social Psychology at Sussex University, graduating in 1994.
He worked for a number of years in the voluntary and local authority
sectors, working with vulnerable children and adults suffering from
learning difficulties and mental health problems.
He
completed an MA in Mental Health Studies in 1999 and his research
interests were (and still are) Critical Perspectives on Psychiatric
Practice and Cross Cultural and Transpersonal Psychology.
Nick
already had considerable experience assisting vulnerable detainees
at the Police Station as an Appropriate Adult when he joined Bishop
and Light in 2005. Since then he has achieved his Police Station
Advisor Accreditation and membership of the Law Society Mental
Health Tribunal Representation Panel.
Nick's
current workload combines Police Station Advice with Mental Health
Tribunal Representation, reflecting his career long interests in
liberty and the rights of Vulnerable people.
Outside
of work he is a keen Scuba Diver, folk musician and in unguarded
moments admits to being
a Scotland football supporter.
