Non means tested Legal Aid is
usually available.
From 14th January 2008 only firms on the Legal Services Commission
Very High Cost Cases Panel can take on lengthy complex cases on Legal Aid. The definition of a
Very High Cost Case for these purposes is one
where the trial is expected to last 41 days or longer.
If a firm takes on/continues a case which fulfils these criteria and which is not on the Serious Fraud Panel then the fees of the firm are likely to be disallowed
on taxation.
We are pleased to accept referrals of Serious Fraud Cases from other firms or directly from clients.
