Andrew graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Exeter in 1987 and completed his legal training at a commercial law firm in the City of London. After qualifying in 1991, he relocated to Brighton to specialise in Criminal Defence.

He was a founding partner of Bishop and Light Solicitors, a firm established in 1995 as a specialist practice in Criminal Defence and Mental Health Tribunal work—areas that remain at the core of the firm's expertise today.

Over the years, Andrew has defended clients in nearly every type of criminal case, including those involving murder, serious fraud, and complex sexual offences. In 1999, he was awarded Higher Rights of Audience, enabling him to represent clients in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal. He has acted as junior advocate in cases of murder and conspiracy, and has appeared as sole advocate in trials involving serious assault, conspiracy to murder, sexual assault, and fraud.

Now a Consultant Solicitor, Andrew focuses on casework, applying his extensive experience to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Andrew is actively involved in the legal community. He serves as the Law Society Council representative for Sussex, sits on the Criminal Law Solicitors Association Committee, and is a committee member of the Sussex Law Society.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, running marathons, and supporting Bristol City Football Club.
