Justin Pierce graduated from Keele University in 1979 with very long hair and a degree in Law & Psychology. He has worked as a lawyer since 1982, and as a specialist crime solicitor since 1987, mainly in South East London.
In 1994 he was a founding partner of specialist criminal law firm Brady, Eastwood, Pierce & Stewart in Deptford, which he managed for over 20 years.
He is a Higher Rights advocate and has conducted Crown Court trials of causing death by careless driving, GBH, false imprisonment and burglary by artifice, amongst others. He has appeared on a number of occasions before the Court of Appeal.
As a litigator he has conducted numerous serious cases for the defence and was involved in the first and third of the four trials concerning the ‘honour killing’ of Banaz Aga Mahmod. more recently he represented a defendant accused of a double murder.
He proactive in his defence of clients and has given evidence for the defence several times having undertaken extensive investigations on behalf of his clients, in one case engaging enquiry agents in London, Ireland and South Africa and proving that one co-defendant was using a stolen identity (also tracing the victim of the identity theft), and that another had a completely bogus CV.
Justin joined Bishop and Light in 2016 and has become a valued member of the team in East Sussex.
